The Imani Republic Band is a Christian Band that is creating an album to support and create awareness on the problems of mental health. They want to help create a non-stigma, non-judgmental support group through their church and their communities.

This trimester we will be mixing and mastering the 2 songs which we recorded last trimester titled:

• Give

• Wabaraka - (Instrumental)

Both songs were composed and written by Philadephia Murefu.

For the song 'Give', we used the American band 'Earth, Wind, and Fire's hit song - 'September' as a reference track. When we continue mixing it this trimester and mastering the song, we will be paying close attention to the aesthetics of Earth, Wind, and Fire and how they created their sound.

The Instrumental 'Wabaraka' is an Afro Soca Fusion, the genre is a combination of African music and Caribbean dance music. We will be using Phil's mentor musician friend in Africa, the legend Oliver Mtukudzi and his song titled Ndima Ndapedza as the reference soundtrack for the instrumental.

Looking forward to learning the black art of mastering, so we can create a solid start for the Imani Republic Band project.
