When we had our meeting with Nick to discuss how we were going to record his vocals, Zoom was the medium of choice. bile phones (mobile for emergency purposes only). Since we have been placed in isolation due to COVID-19. We have now been using Zoom to communicate, and also create a quicker workflow for solving problems that occur during our project. I just love Zoom for its quick and easy connection through the internet. It's sharing capabilities are a powerful tool for workflow. Phil and l have been using it for our main, along with side projects.

When we had our meeting with Nick to discuss how we were going to record his vocals, Zoom was the medium of chose.

The benefits:

  • You have more personal contact with clients.

  • Communication is quicker between people.

  • Gauging people's responses is easier through eye to eye contact.

  • You can visually share items.

  • Share screens with colleagues.

  • Problem solving without having to be there.

Phil and I use Zoom as an effective method of communication all the time now.

Some pic's below of Phil and myself using Zoom as a new sustain effective teamwork skill, and to develop the completion of Nick J Holmes EP.

As soon as the lecture classes went online, Phil and I used Zoom, in the same manner, to share our progress during the project and we also used Zoom to make alterations to songs as we viewed them. Zoom saved us in travel time and also created a quick and easy way of getting the projects completed.

Phil and I also applied and adapted this form of communication and workflow for Nick's EP project.

We also used Slack as a multimedia tool to keep track of studio work between our home computers. From normal talks sessions to keep an eye on our progress, along with viewing pictures from each other computers.

If it wasn't for COVID-19, Phil and myself would not have explored this form of multimedia (Zoom) as a work tool to create a quicker workflow for our projects. Thanks to the dedicated lecturers at SAE and online education, we have been able to use other tools of communication for our projects and this will be included as part of my personal workflow.
