Single release from Nick’s new EP Dreams

Just a quick recap on the main project. Phil and l teamed up to do a social conscious recording project for trimester 5. After weeks of producing, recording, mixing and finally mastering, I can now release my version of ‘Chosen’.

There has been a lot of challenges to overcome during the recording process. The restrictions of not being able to use the campus studios to record any of the audio tracks. COVID-19 locked us all in our homes and enforcing social changes (social distancing) to protect us from an unknown enemy. We had to rethink how we were going to record the songs in isolation and do the best job we could due to the circumstances.

Not only did we complete the EP, we also were able to have our own mixing and mastering versions added to a video clip. Nick had the video ready and waiting to add our own version of the mixed audio. Which is really kind of Nick to do this for us, and that allows me to independently release my version of the song.

Phil and I have now come to the end of the main project of Nick J Holmes - Christian multicultural support EP, and we can release our own versions of ‘Chosen’ on multimedia. I asked Phil to ask Nick, how he wanted the mp3 and video released on multimedia. He requested to engage the privacy settings so l created a password. I did not want to interfere with how he was going to release and use the mp3 and video on multimedia.

Conclusion

It was a great experience to create the EP for Nick J Holmes - Christian social conscious project to support multiculturalism This was my first ever adventure in being involved with an EP as a musician and an audio engineer. So, l am very grateful to Phil for giving me an opportunity to work on the project with an artist he is already working with.

As for the publicity decisions, I’m limited to how l can release the EP. It’s all up to the client and I do not want to be involved with the decision-making process or involved with how he should promote his material. But l was granted permission to do a couple of releases that are required for the project completion.
