Keeping a professional attitude.

It's very important to keep a positive outlook in the current circumstances, where self-isolation has become the normal way of living for the time being. It's in one aspect the perfect environment to band together with your project team and develop a stronger knitted unit. Creating different options and strategies for getting the work done.

I really like working in a small team and find it a much more of a rewarding experience, than having to maneuver around a larger think tank of ideas, and personalities, that can end up to be toxic and to overbearing with little compromises even attach to ideas. So working in a small team with Phil l am able to achieve this, it also helps with my self-growth and allows me to structure. This has and will put me in good stead for better processes in building better professional characteristics and behavior techniques to deal with the most crisis that may develop.

Project teams tools for workflow.

Phil and l are using 4 ways of communication to keep our workflow on the milestone schedule, as much on track as possible. They are:

  • Mobile

  • A shared G drive folder

  • Slack

  • Zoom

At the moment to get the main project completed, the Slack app is now always open on my computer and I always have it placed to the right on a second screen.

Phil and l are so used to using slack, we don't even worry about ringing via a mobile nowadays, except if it's really necessary.

I think our online communication in keeping our project on track has developed better respect for each other and is creating a better professional behavior standard towards each other when talking to our project artists. This has also made us a tighter unit as I always do my best to have a positive attitude and a professional outlook whenever I'm conversing with Phil. To be able to express my ideas through different platforms of communication has been a great help, and it has encouraged me to share any ideas through the use of online examples. The team environment is friendly, supportive without any feelings of negativity. Phil is really easy to work with and we value each other's ideas and l am always willing to try anything that will help out our team and get the work done. I know l can be a little demanding or a tad pushy when it comes to trying to keep to our milestone schedules, the fact of the matter is, l don't want to miss any deadlines and especially if we can create a little buffer zone for our projects. I think the reason why Phil and l work well as a team, we think very similarly when it comes to the approach of a project. I know exactly what Phil's talents and work ethic are and his thought process when it comes to getting the job done. I know I can rely on him not to let the team down.

At the moment for our main project, we are recording Nick J Holmers who is a Christian artist. Phil knows him personally and this has developed another opportunity for me to learn how to create a professional friendly environment when relating to an artist's needs in an open communication platform. Phil and I are now using Zoom as a permanent platform to talk and link with Nick. Zoom has become an important tool for planning recording timelines, and being able to talk face to face with Nick and Phil is a really important process for us to keep the recording milestone planner on track.

Since the outbreak of COVID 19, I have noticed just how versatile you need to be. We now live in an age were our families will become even more visible in our working environment. So having patience and respect for each other is the key to creating a great work environment and how we all conduct ourselves and appreciate each other challenging times in a world of an unforeseeable future.

So far our outcome of this project is looking positive, and we hope to have ourselves in a good position by the end of week 9. I complete all of my tracks for the songs on the weekend of week 8 milestone planner.

Down below an example of how the real world could be doing business in the future.
