Learning more ProTools (Week 3 Blog 2)

This morning was all about creating a scratch track from the start and doing it the right way. l have always wondered how people in the industry create songs by using instrument tracks on ProTools.

We have been using the audio side of ProTools since l started at SAE, as it is now considered the industry standard for DAW recording. It was great to learn another side of ProTools today and get an understanding of want is possible with midi.

In the last 2 weeks we have had a taste of different DAW software. The DAW systems so far:

* ProTools,

*Logic Pro x

*Ableton Live 10.

So this blog is a little bit late. This was accomplished in week 3 and we are now into week 4.

It was good to try a simple drum beat and make a small melody on the keyboard with other supporting instrument from the midi sound samples.

Just a quick look at the ProTools console and the features it has to offer for the Instrument midi section. Phil from our project group DRAX used the instrument midi for his keyboard parts on the song 'Blood Sucker'.
