What Are We Doing This Trimester -Studio 3

This trimester - outline

We will be exploring the art of mastering on how to create a quality audio product that can pass from our own environment into the world stage successfully. This is a skill I'm looking ahead to learning.

For the first 6 weeks, we are replacing the audio sound for the trailer 'A Quiet Place' to which l have already commented on via a blog post earlier. By replacing the audio in the trailer will give me the opportunity to gather the skills l need for the short animation film l would like to create. Along with this, I'm using two sources for my reference points at the moment for Drac's Empire.

First Project

By replacing the audio in the trailer will give me the opportunity to gather the skills l need for the short animation film l would like to create. Along with this I'm using two sources for my reference points at the moment for Drac's Empire.

They are:

• Sound and Fury by Sturgill Simpson

• The animation series Castlevania

I'm still keeping open-minded about my references as l'm sure there are more out there.

For the main project of this trimester

l am helping Phil record a Christian artist - Nick John Holmes. The theme will be based on a social conscious theme about multiculturalism and the positive impact and importance it brings to our communities and societies. I personally am looking forward to the outcome of this project as we're also going to do a video clip (fingers crossed about the video clip). I've got my Panasonic handy camera charged and ready to go.

The Side Projects

There are 2 side projects at the moment. the first one is Drac"s Empire in which l hope to get 2 songs completed. I use Drac's Empire to explore different ways of recording. For example, last trimester we recorded a lot of the tracks by using analog microphone techniques to create the tracks. This time l want to use only the interface if possible. I have also written a starting blog for this trimester about Drac's Empire's expectations.

The Second Side Project

I would like to finish mixing and complete the mastering on Phil's band, The Imani Republic Band. We recorded his band last trimester in the Neve studio and Phil also did some recording at home. The Imani Republic Band had a social conscious theme about it as well. They wanted to support awareness for depression and promote it into the public awareness. I would really like to finish the 2 songs so Phil can continue with the Imani Republic Band journey. I have also started a blog on Imani Republic.

The 2 songs were titled:

• Give

• Wabaraka

I think it's going to be a very busy trimester for me.
