Learning Journal (Week 10 – CIU330)

I had a test run on listening to the B&W Funk Bros songs dB level with the instruments compared to the reference track songs. This week will be getting the mixes better once I’m out of the hospital and I am able to focus on the job properly. (Just pump the pain killers into me doc)

The ‘show and tell’ session we had prepared for our classroom peers worked out to pretty well. Voodoo and I still have some tweaking to do, plus, hearing how each group or solo team had developed from trimester 5 was awesome, and I loved hearing all the different mixes.

Guy has given us a list of suggestions to think over for each song, so Voodoo and I can work towards getting the songs to sounding more professional and polished for our final submission.

I still would like to squeeze in Voodoo’s backings vocals if we could wrangle it. Extra vocals would completely change the whole vibe on the songs and put a more duo personality on the material. It’s now week 10 and the timeline window is getting shorter by the day. That’s a real shame if Voodoo doesn’t get the time and we have to leave the backing vocals out.

Voodoo and I tackled 2 tasks for our final project, so I am looking forward to seeing what the animator duo have created for their Coroda short film. I would love to have a copy of the Coroda project for my CV.
