Coroda

Coroda composition has finally got the tick of approval from the animators. Now it’s back to the foleys bathtub recordings. The animator team asked us to do some more foleys sounds to complete their list of challenges to recreate. So once again, I set up a makeshift studio in the bathroom, half-filled the tub with water, and started splashing empty coca-cola cans and a plastic bag around and going through the animators wish list. For a wind noise recreation, I used a polystyrene lid and recorded it by fanning it in front of the microphone. The boat engine noise, I used my diesel mini and recorded it with my iPhone. I also added a couple of free online samples. Hopefully, this will help our animators complete their final project.

The B&W Funk Bros
This week, Voodoo has completed the keyboard recordings and I‘m busy loading the sessions up and checking it all out, putting EQ’s on tracks and taking notes on what we may need to change. Voodoo’s busy getting his vocals down and I’m looking forward to hearing the results.
I’ve split the drum tracks into mono, except for the Toms, and have started replacing all the transient distortion noises. I hoping to have all the drums sorted out this week.
I’ve also started editing the vocals and adjusting the transients that are too loud or soft. Adjusting vocals with the Melodyne plug-in whenever it really needs it, plus EQing and lightly compressing the vocal tracks.
Voodoo and I should be right into the editing stage of the project and If I need to put down more guitar work, I will do it next week while we are sorting out the editing.
