What a week it’s been. Busy getting all the songs ready, so that Voodoo (Phil) and I (B&W Audio) can start getting some basic mixes and continuity rough similarity in each song. We are working on creating the sounds between each song to have a nice feel, and sounds that will give the EP a tight-knit sound for the B&W Funk Bros. Still adding bits and pieces as I go along, but the songs are now ready for the mixing proses.
I’ve been trying out different EQ and Compressor combinations to hear the difference and I’m finding out that some EQ and Compressor combinations sound better on certain instruments that others. (that’s to my ear) I was going to have parallel compression on the vocals but have decided to make the mixing console as easy as possible for a quicker workflow.
I’ve grouped nearly all the tracks into small group parts, so I can add VCA tracks and group them into sections to help adjust the gain level. I still can adjust individual tracks, but if I need to adjust a group section gain up or down a couple of dB levels, this will make it a lot easier.
Below is how I have set up each song so far. I expect there will be changes suggested to make the mixing flow quicker.
